We are currently looking to recruit a Payroll and Benefits Assistant to join our team within the Payroll and Benefits section of the Finance and Planning Department.

The post holder will be assisting as part of a small team who are responsible for providing a comprehensive payroll and benefits service for the University, offering a fully customer-focused service in the provision of accurate and timely payments of staff salaries and wages, expenses and external bodies.

This role will involve assisting the Payroll and Benefits Officer with all relevant administration, the accurate and timely input, checking, processing and administration of all payroll, pension and expense records to agreed timescales and legislative requirements.

Applicants must be able to demonstrate previous experience of working within a Payroll function, and have a high level of numeracy and accuracy skills with a high level of attention to detail. You will also need a high level of organisational skills with an ability to plan ahead to meet targets and deadlines.


You must be able to demonstrate an empathetic and sensitive approach to customer care and will be a team player with a flexible and pro-active approach to work.
