We are looking for a positive, flexible, and creative Café Support Assistant, with catering experience to join our friendly team at MAKE part of the Aldingbourne Trust.

This is an exciting role where you will be able to provide creative support within our Café located in Fratton, Portsmouth, as well as giving you the opportunity to support people with learning disabilities and / autism. Within this role, you will support their development and progression, and encourage gaining new skills within the catering environment, whilst providing a high standard of service to our customers.

We promote a positive and welcoming environment in the café, offering a creative place to relax and refuel. Our Cafe provided balanced menus, daily specials, brunches, scrumptious cakes, afternoon teas, outside catering, creative events, dining experiences and much more.

About the role

• Ensuring the smooth and daily running of the Café, working 5 days each week Tuesday –Saturday

• Comply with all food safety standards are met and maintain a 5* rating, both within the kitchen environment and the customer service areas

• Customer focus is a critical requirement and you with be responsible for promoting high standards of customer service

• Active team player and be required and willing to work at our occasional seasonal and evening events

• Promote people’s rights, independence, social inclusion and facilitate choice.

You will be a role model for the people we support and ensure a high standard of catering and customer service is maintained and always delivered.  You will actively raise awareness and promote MAKE as a community of place and people.
