A CAD Designer is required to work alngside the Installation Manager required to provide a technical support service to the company; predominantly using CAD systems Solidworks to create design plans for automated gates and barriers.

What will the CAD Designer be doing?

• Attend site visits with Sales and Installation Managers to meet clients and carry out surveys.
• Prepare working drawings using 3D modelling software Solidworks.
• After site survey produce designs of gates for the technical surveyors to show to clients to assist their choice of design and then produce an accurate design to incorporate client and surveyor instructions.
• Use 3D design to assist the engineering process by illustrating the structure or components within the installation.
• You may be required to produce designs to form technical manuals for use by the engineering team.
• Read specification documents to establish what the surveyor has sold to the customer and work out what design is required.
• Adhere to all health and safety requirements.
• Participate in meetings.

What skills does the CAD Designer need?

• Knowledge of Solidworks or equivalent CAD software essential.
• Ability to understand the engineering principles of automated gate and barrier construction, as well as the desire to learn the industry.
• Experience of working in an engineering CAD environment advantageous.
• Competent with Microsoft office.
• Good numeracy and computer skills.
• Good communication skills.
• Be able to demonstrate a logical approach to resolving technical scenarios.
• Must pass a security vetting check.
