A top 10 accountancy firm are hiring an Audit Manager to join their fast growing Audit & Assurance team based at their large and modern office in Southampton, Hampshire.

The office is located in the city centre, just 10 minutes walk from Southampton Central train station, meaning the office is easily accessible from many areas including: Portsmouth, Salisbury and Bournemouth. There is also a large car park directly behind the office.

The office boasts a rooftop garden, modern kitchen facilities and various break out areas. Social activities include wii tournaments on the big screen, elevenses and roof top drinks!

This role would suit someone in a strong supervisory role, ready to take the step to Manager, or alternatively, someone looking for a managerial role with more responsibility, in a bigger firm.

About You

  • Should be ACA or ACCA qualified
  • 4+ years proven experience in an accountancy practice
  • External audit background
  • Proven managerial experience
  • A background in financial due diligence is extremely advantageous
  • First class presentation and communication skills
  • Good knowledge of audit and accounting standards
  • Keen to get involved with business development and senior internal responsibilities
  • Strong knowledge of UK GAAP and IFRS
  • Experience working with SME clients in a variety of sectors
  • Knowledge of CaseWare is advantageous
  • Good time management

About the role

  • Responsible for your own mixed client portfolio, around £500k
  • Planning to completion stage of large audits
  • Working closely with the Partners, reporting straight to the Director
  • Planning of the workload, reviewing work and arranging timetables for the team
  • Setting budgets for the team
  • Some national travel required
  • Mentor and supervise a large team of junior staff and their workload
  • Regular appraisals with plenty of progression opportunities
  • Involvement in business development, including preparing proposals and attending networking events
