Production Support Engineer – Fareham – £25000 to £35000 per annum

We are working closely with an international, highly technical manufacturer supplying the aviation industry who are looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic individual to join their Mechanical Engineering team in R&D.

Salary and benefits

You would be working in Fareham amongst a great team of experienced engineers.

What will you be doing?

A huge part of your role will be to become a subject specialist in special manufacturing processes including heat treatments and wet surface treatments, for example anodizing etc. you will need to have some knowledge of this whether it is practical or theoretical as well as a willingness to continually expand your knowledge in these areas.

This is a great opportunity to gain authority within the company as a specialist in your subject, your position would see you acting as the main point of contact for supplier technical queries related to special manufacturing and supporting internal departments in your area.

Your main role would be to make sure the products and services meet the requirements, interpret customer documentation and BoMs, specifications, drawings, sketch sheets, assembly & test schedules etc. to ensure robust manufacturing processes. You will receive company training in the above so if you haven’t done this before you will be shown. Once in the role, you would be creating product and tooling definitions, manufacturing information and machine programmes as well as the validation of manufacturing processes. A part of your varied role would be to look at NCR process from root cause identification through to implementation of corrective actions, also managing customer changes to products and implementing these into the New Production document system.

You will be well supported by the company who are happy to put you through extra training to assist you in your role and help you progress both your career and technical knowledge.

What can you bring to the role?

To be considered for the role you will need to have a good mechanical engineering background, this could be in a hands on manufacturing capacity or in a production support type role. They are happy to train someone who has a qualification and is still early in their career – so if you are looking an opportunity to take a huge leap in your career then you need to get in touch!
