Buyer / Planner

Woking, Surrey

£25,000 plus pension, parking,

A Buyer / Planner is required for an established local business, who are rapidly growing and looking to add value to their business by investing in new equipment and looking to make some acquisitions.

The Buyer will be supporting the purchasing and buying activities with the Purchasing Manager, taking ownership of key purchasing processes, updating services with delivery dates, managing the stock control system, and assisting with improving the overall supply chain costs, managing key supplier relationships.

Duties will involve:

  • Monitoring stock levels to meet customer demand
  • Identifying goods to be ordered and placing purchase orders with suppliers
  • Register all order acknowledgements
  • Progress purchase orders
  • Monitor usage patterns, reviewing stock and demand lead times
  • Maintain works order process
  • Forecasting accounts and ensuring up to date and accurate
  • Maintaining contact with suppliers
  • Preparing and issuing monthly purchasing reports
  • Visiting suppliers

Skills / Experience

  • Previous buyer / planner experience
  • Experience of material flow into production / manufacturing
  • Solid Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Willing to progress through training
