Reports To: Purchasing Supervisor

Location: Romsey, Hampshire (Headquarters)

Job Overview: At RS Marine Group, we are in search of a meticulous purchasing assistant to join our dynamic team at our headquarters in Romsey. You will play a pivotal role in managing our procurement processes and ensuring the accuracy of our data. As a purchasing assistant, you will be responsible for liaising with suppliers, coordinating stock purchases, and maintaining precise records within our ERP system.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Oversee the timely delivery of goods from our suppliers.
• Ensure the accuracy of delivery dates on purchase orders.
• Monitor stock levels and identify purchasing needs.
• Update internal databases with order details, including dates, vendors, and quantities.
• Maintain comprehensive records of contracts and discounts.
• Collaborate with warehouse staff to ensure the receipt of goods in optimal condition.
• Ensure stock accuracy through the timely processing of Goods Received Notes.
• Liaise with suppliers for other ad hoc information as required to facilitate import and export.
• Oversee all invoice queries and disputes.
• Manage the return of faulty stock and subsequent remuneration from suppliers.

Qualifications/Experience:

• Proficiency in manipulating data within Excel.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
• High attention to detail to minimise errors.
• Excellent communication skills, both internally and externally.
• Familiarity with Sage 200 is advantageous.
• Any sailing knowledge will be viewed favourably.
• Previous experience as a purchasing assistant, purchasing officer, or similar role.
• Basic understanding of supply chain procedures.
